Volunteer of the Month for March, Lee Morris

Lee Morris is a CASA volunteer for the 5th Judicial District Court which covers Franklin, Richland, and West Carroll Parishes. Lee has a wife and 2 children whom he adores. Lee and his family love to travel and enjoy the outdoors. Funny story about Lee, when signing up to be a CASA he thought he was signing up to be in the Big Brother program. After explaining what CASA is, Lee was very excited as he did not want to change diapers! Lee has always had a passion for helping kids and felt CASA was and is the place he wanted to be a part of!

Lee was sworn in by Honorable Clay Hamilton on May 18, 2023. He is currently on his first case which is a drug affected newborn. With Lee’s busy lifestyle, that did not stop him, he quickly hit the ground running not wasting any time getting started. He began talking to all involved parties and has visited with the child each month. The child in his case had a brief stay in the hospital, and Lee remained in contact with all collaterals to be sure the child was okay. Lee’s bond with his CASA child is evident every time he talks about the child, you can hear how proud he is of his CASA child in the milestones he is conquering.

CASA of NELA greatly appreciates Lee for all the hard work he has poured into his case!
